Waikato Approval: SPELFilter

Waikato has become the latest region in New Zealand to approve the SPELFilter, our high-performance cartridge filter system. A modular and scalable approach to filtration, the SPELFilter has industry-leading pollutant removal capabilities – including high rates of nitrogen and phosphorus removal which are important environmental outcomes in the region.

The SPELFilter’s greater surface-to-footprint ratios ensure better water quality outcomes compared to many other filter systems, with supporting high removal efficiencies of dissolved metals and total suspended solids.

This modular and scalable system has also recently gained SQIDEP verification through Stormwater Australia’s standards system – with third-party data confirming pollution removal rates of 85% TSS (Total Suspended Solids), 74% TP (Total Phosphorus) and 59% TN (Total Nitrogen).

Providing excellent on-site footprint efficiency and high site surface yield, SPELFilter can be deployed in a range of applications – such as on-site stormwater detention, drainage infrastructure & treatment trains. The SPELFilter is easy to maintain and offers long service life and replacement schedules.

This innovative filter system can be scaled to suit your on-site requirements across Waikato. Full-size cartridges are designed to treat 1,080m² and half-sized units up to 540m² – the highest rates of any locally approved filters in the region.

Joining Our Approvals in Christchurch & Auckland

Approval of the SPELFilter in Waikato joins our previous approvals in Auckland & Christchurch, which position the SPELFilter as a reputable device with tertiary treatment outcomes that ensure environmental compliance and high-performance pollution removal.
