stormwater quality improvement device evaluation protocol

SQIDEP Protocol Release and Available

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the Stormwater Australia Stormwater Quality Improvement Device Evaluation Protocol is now released and available from Stormwater Australia’s website here or by clicking on the image.

This is great news for Councils and environmental regulators in Australia because finally, and for the first time, there is now a national benchmark for peer reviewers to assess stormwater improvement devices against.

This journey started in April 2014 when Stormwater Queensland hosted a forum on this topic titled “2014 The Performance of Proprietary SQIDs – The Facts, The Fiction and The Future Testing Protocol”…well, everything starts somewhere, and now over 4 years later, we have a world class protocol that has been through public consultation and academic peer reviews, and I would say incorporates the best of all international and Australian experience.

With that said, there is always more to do, and now we move onto phase 2, setting up the overarching peer review framework, and also building a laboratory test protocol.
