Location: Kwinana WA
Load Rating: Class G
Configuration/SPEL Product: Off Line Stormceptor & SPELOsorb
Model: OL.6480.C1.2CEHD
Inlet/Outlet size: 600mm
Treatment Flow Rate: 400L/sec
Total Volume: 140,000L
Excavation depth: 6m
The Challenge
The three SPEL Stormceptor units need to be designed to cleanse the 1 year, 1-hour storm.
Each Stormceptor also has a SPELOsorb coalescer fitted which targets the water soluble/dissolved fraction of the TPH. This simple retrofit enables the Stormceptors to treat all carbon fractions instead of just the free phase hydrocarbons.
Our Solution
Pipe sizes and flow rates are provided below for each of the units for this design storm.
Unit No. | Connecting Pipe Size | Treatable Flow | Lid Rating Required |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 600 | 389 l/s | G |
2 | 300 | 79 l/s | G |
3 | 300 | 120 l/s | D |
SPEL Stormceptor unit no. 1 will also need to be capable of treating flows from a foam fire fighting system. The foam, as we understand,is a 2% high concentrate.
